Why we are what we are!

HAYSEEDS HATS
What is the world is a hayseed and why would you name a hat company after such a thing?
When most people lived in the city many thought of country dwellers as unsophisticated persons from a rural area; often called yokes or hicks.

FROM THE URBAN AND LIBERAL DEFINITION OF FLY-OVER-COUNTRY

Today many city dwellers use hayseeds as a  derogatory term for a rural member of the American working class. This cutesy term has a demonizing impact on class consciousness, segregating the rural worker from his urban counterpart.

Many consider the hayseeds as a slow witted or unstylish person from the rural midwest. Their opinion maybe that the used tractor depot was full of hayseeds and rednecks. Because of course they are one in the same.

Those people in the fly-over-country are a common person, somebody of little intelligence and social status. And the opinionated elderly country folk. I will bet they meant "Tea Party Type".

So the answer to the question is that we may take exception to the description but we are country folks and proud of it. Since we sell hats which may now be more associated with rural areas we thought it was the fine fit for our hat company.
